Vehicle Description

This is a 100% Original and complete, 26,000 mile Henry J.....I have a completed "Hotrod" version and was approached by the son of the original owner who asked me if I wanted another one. He gave me the following details:  Car bought new in 53 by his dad in Miller Place NY...drove until 1972 or 74, when he decided it needed to be painted.  Went to Earl Schrieb (Cheapo),car was stripped to bare metal and given the $49.95 special in a similar color (forgot primer).  Paint started to peel a few years later.  Gave car to son (man who approached me) in 1982.  Driven a few months and then put into a garage in Hicksville NY where it stayed until this month......I dragged the car out on 4 flats onto a trailer, took it to my shop, "Mystery oiled" the cylinders, cleaned the plugs and points, bought a battery and ran fuel from a clean can....CAR STARTED & RAN!!!!!! It was running when I took these pics.....

Vehicle Condition

The rust you see in the pics is SURFACE RUST...There are a few "dings" and a flat spot in the hood where everything was stored on top of it for the past 22 years (This is not dented and can be pushed out). The glass is good (one vent has small crack) seats near perfect, headliner same(very dirty from age),rugs good but worn.  The brakes go to the floor..I saw a wheel cyl. that had leaked and the gas smells "stale".  I am not going to go further with this car as I am  not a restorer...I also am recovering from major wrist surgery and have long months of rehab ahead of me.....I have my own shop and a finished "magazine quality" 51 HJ...This car that I am selling is in better condition now  than the one I have finished when I started it.  AGAIN...100% COMPLETE
